Technology Acceptable Use Policy for Students

Our program is committed to providing a wide range of instructional materials including access to electronic resources. These resources are in place to support NASA/Library instruction, as well as the school districts vision, mission and goals established by the Board of Education.

*********************************************

All students maintain strict compliance with all ethical and legal regulations. All users must respect intellectual property rights. Student work stored on the network cannot be considered private because teachers and administrators can monitor all use of electronic resources.

*********************************************

We do not provide access to student e-mail.  Be assured that your elementary student will not be left alone at the computer.

*********************************************

Nasa classes are broken in three groups with no more than 10 students per group.  An instructor will be at the computer station at all times during computer instruction.

*********************************************

In addition  it is important to note that Willamina School district filters the internet to insure students will not stumble onto a site by mistake.  We make every effort to educate and guide all users in the proper use of electronic resources, including the internet.

*********************************************

NASA students have access to computers in the media center and in the classrooms. The following guidelines are in place and must be adhered to by all students:

1.   Students will use proper care and handling of all equipment. Damage of any equipment or software will be considered destruction of school property.

4.   Students will be closely supervised during technology use to insure the direct connection to curriculum, the protection of equipment, and the appropriate use of research materials, including the Internet. Students will not view, receive, or create inappropriate information at school.

5.   Internet access is an important component of research projects for NASA at WES. Students will follow all posted policies and teacher directions and take responsibility for their behavior.
